As a conductor, Howard Moody has worked with London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Bournemouth Orchestras, London Mozart Players, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra delle Toscana, La Monnaie, Opera Factory, Icelandic Opera, Days Bay Opera, Glyndebourne Youth Opera, Netherlands Radio Chorus, Salisbury Festival Chorus, La Folia, Romanian State Chorus, Schola Cantorum of Oxford and numerous European ensembles and choral groups.

London Symphony Orchestra

Howard Moody has written and conducted twelve sets of variations for London Symphony Orchestra’s On Track Next Generation scheme since 2009. Together with players from the orchestra, Howard leads improvisation workshops on a chosen theme that culminate in a unique collective performance by the orchestra and the project participants in the Barbican Concert Hall. Salisbury International Arts Festival

Since 1995, Howard Moody has conducted large-scale Salisbury Festival Chorus performances as part of Salisbury International Arts Festival. Most recently, these have included Voices from No Man’s Land (2014), Voices of the Whale (2017) and Earthrise (2019), Stone Songs (2022)

La Folia

Howard Moody has been artistic director of La Folia since its inception in 1986. The Salisbury-based music charity and production company was originally known as Sarum Chamber Orchestra. Over the past thirty-four years, he has led a series of classical music concerts and productions for La Folia, alongside an ambitious programme of inclusive creative projects.
